ספרות בין העולמות

In this special program for the Summer we will explore the literary worlds of three of the most renown Israeli writers. These writers move seamlessly between worlds in which reality and fantasy are woven together into the wonderful tapestry that we call the Israeli experience.

Meir Shalev's two chapters: מתנ"ך לתקומה offers a glimpse of the vast Biblical knowledge that Shalev possesses and the wonderful ways in which he uses it in his writing.

Etgar Keret (two chapters) משואה לאמפתיה explores how Keret uses his experience as the son of Holocaust survivors to explore the experience of minorities in Israel.

Hanoch Levin (a chapter) בתוך מחוץ לשיירה explores how Levin looks at the role of protest and dissent play in the arts.

This is a 5 Lectures series taught by Ilan Vitemberg on the following dates from 8-9:45 PM EST. The cost is $15 per lecture (single tickets are only for a trial lecture) or $70 for the whole series.
