The Birth of a Song (NOTE THAT THE LECTURE IS AT 2 PM EST, 11 AM PST and 9PM Israeli Time)

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED: WE ARE SOLD OUT

How do text and music relate? How can music express emotions? What is the writing process of a song? In this meeting we will explore how music can touch our hearts, cheer us up when we're sad, and relate to our own lives and feelings. Through live demonstration and discussion of songs by artists such as Arik Einstein, Shalom Hanoch, and Achinoam Nini, we will learn about the intersections between lyrics, melody, harmony, rhythm, and texture and discuss what makes music so powerful and magical.
